Climbing Peaks with Claude: The Infinite Loop of “Progress"

🧗‍♂️ Click, Climb, Repeat — The Mountaineer’s Guide to AI Coding

Subtitle: How my AI sidekick taught me that déjà vu can be version‑controlled.

It all began with a click. Then another. And another.
Before I knew it, I was in a hypnotic rhythm of “yes,” “sure,” and “confirm,” obediently following Claude’s gentle prompts like a digital sheep on autopilot. 🐑💻

I finally realized that if I stopped every so often — just froze mid‑click and asked “Why are you doing it that way?” — Claude would actually pause, reflect, and deliver advice that made more sense.
So apparently, debugging my AI means interrupting its confidence. 🧐

🔁 The Déjà Vu Chronicles

Three times last night I was sure I’d finished the same piece of code already.
Same loops. Same variables. Same deja‑vu induced coffee refills. ☕
When I asked Claude about it, it replied serenely, “Yes, the work was done. It’s stored in Unity.”

Unity?
Interesting place to keep my epic masterpiece.
Apparently, unless I performed “the preliminary shutdown ritual,” my session lived forever in some ghostly Unity dimension. 👻

⚙️ The Great Rescue Script

So now I’ve coded my own safety harness — a humble little grounding spell that drags every updated file back into my local directory, no matter what mystical state Claude thinks it’s in.
Picture a mountaineer tying a rope around the waist of a cloud. That’s me: confident but paranoid. ⛓️☁️

It’s not elegant, but it beats the AI equivalent of shouting into the void.
(Also, I refuse to lose another night’s sleep to an unsaved “scene.”)

🏔️ One Peak After Another

This whole thing feels a lot like hiking in the Highlands.
You climb one peak thinking “that’s the summit,” only to spot another one silently smirking behind it.
And beyond that… another. And another.
Each one higher, stranger, and somehow running a minor update in the background. 💽

Somewhere between the fifth summit and the fourth restart, I realized something:
coding with Claude isn’t just work — it’s cardio. 🧠💪

✨ Epilogue: The Loop of Youth

Now every day feels like reliving my early coding years — equal parts wonder, impatience, and mysterious compile‑time errors.
Claude and I climb the peaks together: I write the code, it “helps,” and somewhere at the top, reality reloads with patch notes.
If that isn’t progress, I don’t know what is. 🙃
